An artist in her own right, MVC intern and Barnard College senior Whitney Wei has brought her unique skill set and creative talents to the Mohawk Valley Collective over her two-year association with the non-profit organization.
Currently a resident of New York City, the Hallowell, Maine native is an Economic and Social History major at Barnard College. Prior to her involvement with the organization, Whitney worked at a Law Office and also interned for Maine Governor, John Baldacci.
Whitney’s interest in architectural drawing and her aptitude for the visual arts (www.cargocollective.com/whitneywei) have been of enormous benefit to the Mohawk Valley Collective. Her graphic design work has been featured on MVC event posters, flyers, and collectible glasses and other memorabilia.
Other tasks she’s undertaken for the collective include fundraising, grant writing, the interviewing of potential employment candidates, and some media relations work.
Her interest in the Mohawk Valley Collective extends beyond her current tenure. Recruited when the organization was in “developing stages,” she said that she’d like to see the MVC and its projects continue to grow.
