Omonike Akinyemi is a film director/choreographer based in Fort Plain, NY. Omonike has earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature and African Studies from Yale University and a MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California, School of Cinema-Television. She is involved in our community through her work running Image Quilt Cinema, an indie art house that hosts community film screenings at Unity Hall in Fort Plain, NY. Through Image Quilt Cinema we have brought rare art film screenings to our community—free of charge—that otherwise would not be publicly accessible in our rural setting.
